What’s New at Cast Your Anchor?

Bluenose II: Cast Your Anchor has been able to obtain 37 pieces of the Bluenose II. In 1995, the Bluenose II Preservation Trust retrofitted some of the famous schooner. Contact Cast Your Anchor to see how you too can own a piece of true Canadian history.

No More Excuse Kit: If you could buy a kit that came with all the tools you need, glue, paint and a great instructional book, what could be better? How about if Cast Your Anchor gave you your money back (store credit) once you built the boat. Unbelievable!! Contact us for details.

Adult Workshop: Just a reminder that our workshop is back in full swing. Come in and build any model you want and take as long as you want to build it. The cost is only $150. The experience is priceless!!!

They’re Back: Still a few left!! You saw them first at the Hobby Show in November. We have received another shipment of completed models. Great quality at a great price. These won’t last. Come in and check it out. Makes a great gift. Some of the ships are Le Soleil Royal, HMS Prince, Cutty Sark, Bluenose, Constitution, Victory, Endeavour and many more.

Nautical Gifts: Decorate your workshop. Cast Your Anchor is pleased to present new brass products. Compasses, chart readers, brass hooks, and much more. We even have ships bells.

Rockers? They are here!! You have heard of rocking horses. How about rocking boats, trains, cars and motorcycles. These rockers are made of solid hardwood and are exquisitely finished. Great for the little ones or for decorating your home. Motor Cycles are $130, boats and cars are $150 and trucks and trains are only $180. Seeing is believing.

Children’s Workshops: We will be build schooners, the Santa Maria and many other models. Contact the store if you would like your kids to experience the fun of ship model building.

What’s Coming

Bluenose Model Contest: Cast Your Anchor and the Bluenose Trust are working on a Bluenose Model Contest to be held in Lunenburg this coming summer. Keep this in mind. Every model will receive recognition. We will have more information in January.

Dating Service: Cast Your Anchor is pleased to offer a free dating service!! What’s that you say? A number of our customers have expressed interest in meeting people in their geographical area that are into the ship model hobby. If you are interested in meeting like-minded people in your area please contact the store and will put you in touch.

Model Registry: Cast Your Anchor is proposing to build a database of ship models that are built by our customers. Some of the information to be included would be the name of the builder, the owner, the year in which it was completed and some of the characteristics of the model. This database would be used to authenticate models. The model would be issued a certificate. The database would be managed by Cast Your Anchor and be archived within a nautical museum. Please indicate if you would like to have your model registered.

Hobby Show: Mark November 3rd 4th and 5th on your calendar. This year Cast Your Anchor is going to present a Pirate theme at the show. Each day of the show, the first 100 kids that visit our booth will be given a pirate flag. Remember, you don’t have to be small to be a kid!! We will also be giving away prizes. See us at the International Centre. Join us for a Tax Free Weekend!

Pirates Invade Cast Your Anchor: Cast Your Anchor is involved in the Kingston Road Street Festival to be held Saturday October 14th . Come down to the store and meet the Pirate and his gorgeous Wench. All day long will be tax free. That’s right – Cast Your Anchor will pay the GST and PST. Free gifts for kids.

What’s New at Cast Your Anchor?

Toronto Offshore Super Series: The Offshore Super Series (OSS) powerboats are hitting Canadian waters for the first time ever! From July 14th to 16th, OSS teams will race along the shoreline of Ontario Place at speeds upwards of 190 kilometres per hour! And Cast Your Anchor will be there. Be sure to visit our booth in the SpeedZone Area.

Restoration: Cast Your Anchor is heavily involved in the repair and restoration of both static and radio control models. There is always a challenge waiting for us on our work benches.

Spring Festival: Be sure to mark JUNE 3 on your calendar. Cast Your Anchor will be participating in the annual spring festival on Kingston road in the Upper Beaches. Experience live music, kids games, and much more. We will be having a great door crasher sale. Action starts at 10am. Come down and have fun.

What’s New at Cast Your Anchor?

Canadian Home Workshop Show: Last weekend Cast Your Anchor participated in this trade show at the Toronto Congress Centre. It was great to see many of our customers at the show and watch all of the hands on exhibits especially the Kids Corner.

March Break: Once again Cast Your Anchor is pleased to offer Children’s Workshops during the March break. We will be build schooners, the Santa Maria and many other models. Contact the store if you would like your kids to experience the fun of ship model building.

Web Site: Our reference library is up and running and is already out of date. We have a new line of ship modeling books now in stock. Remember to tune into www.castyouranchor.ca.

Forum: Cast Your Anchor has begun setting up an on line forum in order to connect all of our customers. We have very interesting discussions during our in house workshops on techniques etc and would like to encourage all of our customers to participate in these discussions.
